Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 29, 2026 · Last updated: September 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Granite Coast Home Services LLC (“GCHS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit granitecoasthome.com, request an estimate, or have us work on your home — including work arranged through our related companies. It also explains the choices you have.
Our approach to privacy
We collect information so we can answer your questions, estimate and schedule work, do the job right, and stand behind it afterward. We collect only what we reasonably need for those purposes, and we try to keep it no longer than we need it.
We don’t sell your information
Granite Coast Home Services does not sell your personal information, and we don’t give it to advertisers or data brokers for their own marketing. Sharing information with a subcontractor, supplier, or one of our related companies so they can help provide a service you asked for is not selling it.
Information we collect
Contact and request information
When you request an estimate, call, text, or email us — or when a request reaches us through Maine Community Home Alliance (MCHA) or Maine Community Insurance Agency (MCIA) — we may collect your name, phone number, email address, town or job address, how you prefer to be contacted, the type of work you need, your timing, your project description, and anything else you choose to tell us.
Property and project information
To estimate and perform work, we may collect details about your home and the job, including the age and layout of the home, the rooms or surfaces involved, measurements, site conditions, inspection findings, photos or videos you send us or that we take on site, notes from estimates and site visits, and property-access instructions you provide.
Lead-related information
If you ask about lead abatement or lead-safe work, we may ask about the age of the home, any existing inspection, risk-assessment, or agency paperwork, and whether young children or someone who is pregnant lives in or regularly visits the home. We use this information only to plan the work safely, follow lead-safety rules, and complete required notices, clearance documentation, and records.
Contract and payment information
We keep estimates, contracts, change orders, invoices, payment records, and warranty information. Card or bank payments may be processed by third-party payment providers; in that case we generally receive limited payment details (such as the last four digits of a card) rather than full account numbers.
Website and technical information
Like most websites, ours and the services that run it may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the site that referred you, cookies, and security or error logs.
How we use information
- Respond to questions and estimate requests
- Prepare estimates, contracts, and written change orders
- Schedule and perform work, including coordinating our crew and licensed trades such as plumbers and electricians
- Plan lead-abatement and lead-safe work and complete required notifications, clearance testing, and records
- Perform inspections and services arranged through MCHA or MCIA, and report results as described below
- Send invoices, process payments, and keep business records
- Follow up on completed work, handle warranty questions, and remind you about recurring services you’ve arranged
- Keep our website secure and working, and understand how visitors use it
- Measure whether our marketing reaches people who need our services
- Meet our legal, tax, licensing, and insurance obligations, and prevent fraud or misuse
Photos of your home
We may photograph work areas before, during, and after a job to document conditions, prepare estimates and change orders, keep lead-work records, complete inspection reports, and support warranty questions. We will not publish photos of your home on our website, social media, or other marketing without your permission, and we will not identify your address or town unless you agree.
When we share information
We share personal information only when it’s reasonably needed to do the work you asked for, run our business, or comply with the law:
- Our related companies, MCHA and MCIA, as described below
- Subcontractors and licensed trades working on your project, such as plumbers and electricians
- Suppliers and delivery companies, when materials are delivered to your property
- Testing professionals, such as lead inspectors, risk assessors, and laboratories involved in your project
- Insurance companies, only when you ask us to share information with them
- Government agencies, when the law requires it — for example, lead-abatement notifications, permits, and inspections
- Service providers that help us operate, such as website hosting, email, payment processing, accounting, scheduling, and analytics providers
- Our own insurers, accountants, and attorneys, when reasonably necessary
- Legal and safety reasons — to comply with the law or legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers, our crew, or others
- A business transfer — if GCHS is sold, merged, or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy
Our related companies
Granite Coast Home Services shares common ownership with Maine Community Home Alliance (MCHA) and Maine Community Insurance Agency (MCIA). They are separate businesses, but they work together to serve the same Maine households, and information may pass between them when reasonably needed to serve you. For example, we may share information with MCHA or MCIA to:
- Confirm whether you are an MCHA member, so the right member pricing or benefits can be applied
- Receive and act on a service you requested through MCHA or MCIA — such as dryer vent cleaning or a repair — including the contact, property, and scheduling details needed to do the work
- Schedule and perform a home safety inspection you requested through MCIA Prevent, using the contact, property, and scheduling details needed to do the work
- Coordinate scheduling, billing, follow-up, and warranty questions for work that involves more than one of the companies
Each company uses shared information to provide or support the services you asked for. We do not sell your information to MCHA, MCIA, or anyone else.
Home safety inspection results. The findings, photos, and report from a home safety inspection are yours. We share them with MCIA Prevent only if you ask us to, and we do not send them to MCIA, an insurance company, or anyone else unless you ask us to.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work. We may also use analytics or advertising tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site and to measure our marketing. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work as well.
Calls, texts, and emails
We do not send marketing text messages. We may call, text, or email you in response to a request you made or a service arranged for you — for example, to answer an estimate request, schedule or confirm a visit, send an estimate, report, or invoice, follow up after a job, or remind you about a recurring service such as an annual home inspection arranged through MCIA. We will use the contact method you prefer when we can.
You can ask us to stop texting you at any time by replying STOP or by contacting us. If we ever send promotional emails, they will include an unsubscribe link. Even if you opt out, we may still contact you about an active estimate, project, invoice, inspection, or warranty matter.
How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including limiting who can access it. We treat property-access instructions, lockbox codes, and keys with extra care: they are shared only with the people who need them for your job, and we stop using them when the work is done or when you tell us they have changed. No website or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorization. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will provide any notice the law requires.
How long we keep information
We keep information as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including completing your project, handling warranty questions, providing recurring services you’ve arranged, and meeting legal, tax, insurance, and licensing record-keeping requirements. Lead-work records may need to be kept for several years under state and federal rules. Estimate requests that don’t become projects are deleted when we no longer need them.
Your choices
You may ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. We will honor reasonable requests, but we may need to keep certain records — such as contracts, invoices, inspection reports, and required lead-work documentation — to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. When a parent or guardian tells us about a child in the household for lead-safety planning, we use that information only for that purpose.
Links to other websites
Our website may link to other sites, such as Maine DEP, MCHA, or MCIA. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we may also give additional notice on our website or by email.
